Hallie Cat & Icke – Purple Trojan Horse

Hallie is an artist from Philadelphia who uses glass forms to create unique pieces, from pipes to sculptures. She came from a passion for art and went to college to study when she felt the urge to create her own things. Many things can be difficult in glassblowing, such as being a woman. She talks about the stigma behind that when making a piece, but in the end her work shows a true talent for glassblowing. She has always been fascinated by horses, and she brought that passion into her art. This water rig, made by the two glass artists Hallie Cat and Icke, has both style and fire! Starting at the top of the piece, we have stylish purple horns pulled from glass tubing. Then comes the *fire* part of the piece: picture lava rocks splitting during a volcanic eruption, with lava flowing through every crack… looks pretty cool, right? Similarly, the turquoise blobs are surrounded by orange stripes marking the fire that runs through the design. The Purple Trojan Horse has a 14 mm joint, a built-in downstem and a translucent purple colour sleeve that lets you look inside the rig and watch the percolator make the water dance. Taking a hit from this baby is surreal!
